Spiritual Growth

Children

Gloria Dei’s Children's Ministry is committed to leading families into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ. Each of our programs is designed with each individual child in mind. From our nursery to grade 6, our goal is to provide age-appropriate learning opportunities through various channels, including drama, music, arts and crafts, reading books and the Bible, games, and discussion. Our goal is to equip families of all shapes and sizes with the tools necessary to nurture and develop a Christian home.

Nursery

Gloria Dei is a congregation that welcomes all families and children during our worship time. Children are invited and encouraged to attend the worship; however, an unstaffed Nursery is available for children infant-kindergarten who may need more activity. Our worship services can be heard and seen from the Nursery.

Sunday School

We believe Christian education is important for children of all ages in our church community. Beginning on Rally Sunday, the 1st Sunday after Labor Day we offer

  • Sunday School for grades 1 - 5 who meet from 8:45 – 9:45 each Sunday.
  • Sunday School for ages 3-K will meet in the Nursery.
  • We also be offering a different format for grades 1-6 during Sunday School.

The kids will be divided into small group with an adult leader in each group. Small groups will focus on building relationships with one another and with their leaders, digging deeper into the scripture lesson for the day, helping kids apply what they have learned, and teaching memory work.

Youth Studies

Our Youth Ministry is named  EPIC which stands for Endless Possibilites In Christ  We are committed to creating a "place" in the lives of our young people (grades 7 - 12) where they can find a safe, secure, and nurturing environment to experience the love of Christ. We know this can be a challenging time in the lives of our youth, so we create opportunities based on fun, fostering friendships, expressing oneself, and allowing our youth to grow in faith and service.

Social Activities
We offer fun fellowship activities each month to create and foster friendships and unity between the youth, adult leaders and parents. Christian friendships are vital, so all youth are encouraged to invite their friends to join us.

Service Events
Our students are provided with service opportunities each month that allow them to reach out to our community and city through service projects. We do a variety of ministries from helping at Crest View Nursing Home to participating in Youth Sunday to helping in Servant Events in the community or on trips.
