Martin is currently on the Concordia, St Louis Seminary “Specific Ministry Pastor” Program, (He also colloquized as a DCE from Concordia St Paul.) Martin is from England, and is married to a native Minnesotan.
After spending 19 years as a Youth Pastor/Church Planter in the UK, the family moved to Minnesota in 2011 where he was on staff at St Michael’s Lutheran Church in Bloomington, and more recently at Peace Lutheran Church in Robbinsdale.
Martin is married to Rachel and has 3 children – Joshua, Hannah and Tabitha – spread between high school, college and full-time work. Martin is passionate about seeing people of all ages coming to know, love, grow and serve the Lord in the local community and further out into the mission field. In his spare time, he loves to watch English soccer, but will also go for the occasional walk, jog or bicycle ride instead!
Martin is excited to be moving to Gloria Dei. He will be spending 50% of his time as the revitalizing Vicar/Pastor at Gloria Dei and the other 50% as an outreach missionary to the area. The Minnesota South District is keen to see an LCMS presence continuing in this area. St Matthew’s Lutheran Church in Columbia Heights, only a few miles away, is enthusiastic to be involved in partnering with Gloria Dei in helping outreach to this area, providing mentoring, resources and finance.
Martin’s ministry Bible verse is: 1 Peter 3:15-16, “But in your hearts set apart Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect, keeping a clear conscience.”
